TxDOT has announced plans to resurface FM 1585 from University Avenue to Highway 87 beginning MONDAY, MARCH 6. TxDOT has said that the project will last one week. During the project, TxDOT has said that traffic will be down to one lane only, and guided daily by pilot car between 9:00am-2:00pm. TxDOT advises drivers to use an alternate route while this project is underway. Please keep this in mind when traveling throughout the district next week.

On this day in 1836, delegates representing Texas settlers adopted the Texas Declaration of Independence. Among several reasons for separation, early Texans cited the lack of a public school system.
