LCISD Masterpiece Showdown
It is with tremendous pride that we announce that Central Elementary's Sandra Jimenez has been named the 2026 Region 17 ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association! This prestigious honor recognizes Mrs. Jimenez’s exceptional leadership, technical expertise, unwavering commitment to excellence in education, and, most importantly, her heart for the students and teachers she serves! For over a decade, Sandra has been a visionary leader, a master of school operations, and a tireless champion for LCISD students and staff.
Her career is defined by her ability to build programs that change the trajectory of student success. As the primary architect behind the district’s Dual Language and ESL programs, she has ensured that all learners receive the equitable, high-quality instruction they deserve. She has developed and implemented a comprehensive campus behavior program rooted in proactive support, significantly increasing instructional time.
Beyond program development, Mrs. Jimenez possesses a rare technical expertise in school logistics. As the campus master scheduler, she ensures that every student’s needs are met and resources are utilized to their maximum potential.
What truly sets Mrs. Jimenez apart, however, is her heart for people and her dedication to staff support. She is a servant leader, mentor to her colleagues, and a pillar of the LCP family!
Mrs. Jimenez will be honored at the TEPSA conference this summer, and is one of just 20 assistant principals throughout the state in the running for the NAESP National Assistant Principal of the Year for Texas!
Join us in congratulating Mrs. Jimenez on this incredible and well-deserved recognition!

We were so honored to announce our 2025 LCP Family Member of the Year at last week's State of the District Luncheon! Please join us in celebrating a man who truly defines the heart of our community: Keith Bryant!

Since 2011, this award has been reserved for the pillars of our community—those who represent the very best of the Lubbock-Cooper culture. In his 11 years at the helm of LCP, Mr. Bryant has been more than just a leader; he has been a visionary and a servant. From navigating the largest bond election in Lubbock County history to opening New Hope Academy, East Elementary, and Liberty High School, his impact is visible in every corner of our district.

But beyond the new buildings and the state-of-the-art facilities, it’s Mr. Bryant’s personal touch that we cherish most. Whether it was through his famous open-door policy, the introduction of programs like orchestra and Dual Language, or the hundreds of hand-written letters he sent to students, he ensured that every Pirate and Patriot felt safe, loved, and challenged.

Mr. Bryant, thank you for being a mentor, a champion for our children, and the ultimate standard-bearer for "the Lubbock-Cooper way." You haven't just built schools; you’ve built a culture of belonging that will last for generations. Congratulations on this incredibly well-deserved honor!
