Today, we recognize and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and heart of our incredible custodial staff! These unsung heroes play a vital role in our schools, ensuring that our learning environments are safe, clean, and welcoming for students, teachers, and staff every single day. From early mornings to late nights, our custodians work tirelessly behind the scenes to maintain our spaces, and they take great pride in making our campuses shine! They are often the first to arrive and the last to leave, always with a smile and a helping hand for anyone in need. Thank you, LCISD Custodial Staff, for always making sure we sparkle! #LCPfamily

Lubbock-Cooper High School's Zoe A. Bennett has been named a Commended Student in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program! A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to this scholastically talented senior. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2025 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). "Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," commented a spokesperson for NMSC. "These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success." #LCPfamily

Last night, Lubbock-Cooper FFA had the privilege of presenting prestigious Honorary Lone Star Degrees to several incredible supporters: Pete Christy, JW Tabor, and Debbie Smith (pictured) and Don Denny, Wendy Denny, Cory Mortenson, and Dennie Mortenson. The highest honor awarded by FFA to non-members, the Lone Star Degree is a symbol of outstanding dedication and service - and these honorees have gone above and beyond in their unfailing support of the LCISD FFA program. Their commitment to supporting our students and their belief in the future of agriculture have made a lasting impact, undoubtedly inspiring the next generation of industry leaders! On behalf of Lubbock-Cooper FFA, we extend our deepest gratitude to these dedicated supporters. You are forever a part of the FFA family and the LCP family, and we are so glad we have you in our corner! #LCPfamily #LubbockCooperFFA

LBMS sixth-grade students are learning about oral histories and their importance by interviewing family members about their memories surrounding the tragic events on September 11, 2001. Assistant Principal Lewis' son interviewed him as he recalled the reaction of the entire world on that fateful day. This project serves as a reminder to our LCP family of those lost that day, and the way this tragedy has shaped and impacted society, even today. May we never forget the thousands of innocent lives lost, the countless heroes that came to the aid of their fellow men and women, and the triumph of the American spirit.
