Student Directory Information for School-Sponsored Purposes

What is considered a School-Sponsored Purpose?

School-sponsored purposes include the district website and social media, district publications and newsletters, yearbooks, athletic programs/rosters, and positive media outreach. These are uses initiated or authorized by Lubbock-Cooper ISD for the purpose of celebrating student or school achievements or sharing information about class or school programs, events, successes, or initiatives. 

For School-Sponsored Purposes, directory information includes:

  • Student name

  • Address

  • Telephone listing

  • Email address

  • Photograph

  • Date/place of birth

  • Major field of study

  • Degrees, honors, and awards received

  • Dates of attendance

  • Grade level

  • Most recent educational institution attended

  • Participation in officially recognized activities and sports

  • Weight and height of members of athletic teams

  • Student ID numbers of identifiers that cannot be used alone to gain access to electronic education records

If you say "YES" to School-Sponsored Purposes:

Your child can be included in the yearbook, on district social media and websites, in athletic programs or rosters, in local media outlets celebrating student achievements, etc.

If you say "NO" to School-Sponsored Purposes:

Your child will not be included in the yearbook, listed on district social media and websites, in athletic programs or rosters, in local media outlets celebrating student achievements, etc.

Although directory information for SCHOOL-SPONSORED PURPOSES includes student address, phone number, email address, and student ID number, this information will not be publicized by the district.
